(funny lot these humans but I do love her) I'm Teija (means Gift-of-God) a 6 month old lethal who was born both deaf and blind and I live in England where I'm lucky enough to own a couple of (slightly mad) people who chose me specially from a rescue site. | Comments: | Thank you for the kind words in the article on the War Dogs and Buck. We had a great time in Beaufort and meeting Gabe was special. We were in Melbourne, Fl recently at an annual event Buck and I had attended the past four years. Many visitors to the War Dog Tribute Wall were saddened he was gone. The Memorial Ceremony for Buck on April 15 was quite an event with active duty military and police k9 honor guards, color guards of vietnam veteran dog handlers, bagpipes, and a two plane flyover. Quite a tribute! Thanks again, Your friends, Johnny,Buck, and his kennel family. |

Cheyenne, Dakota & Coca (along with a fourth pup from a litter of eight) were scheduled to be killed by the breeder, but fortunately the vet was out of town and they were rescued at 24 hours old. My husband Mark and I are so blessed to have these wonderful dogs. |

| Comments: | I live with four dogs two of which are deaf...one I know is a purebred Aussie named Juliet..I call her jumpin Juliet.I adopted her through DDEAF back in 1999. She has her CGC and knows around 15 or so hand signals and was clicker trained with a pen light. Then there is Shakespeare my first dog. I used to think he was a Aussie with a tail but later I got into Border Collies and do believe he may be a dilute red merle Border Collie. I got him in 1997 and he is a registered pet therapy dog with the Delta Society and was voted by Purina as one of Americas Most Increadible dogs. I love your site! And the fact you did not put your pups down. Juliets breeder originally wanted to put her down but the vet said that there really was no reason as she was otherwise a healthy pup. Kudos to you! |

| Comments: | This site is great. My blind and deaf 11 month puppy old just loves the stories from Allicks and the rest of the crew. His name is Rilke and he has a few stories of his own--his adopted Nanna dog is Kiki, a husky mix, who has taught him to be a puppy gentleman (with lots of work). He also has three collie brothers who love him except when he's too pesky, and two other doggie sisters who mostly bite him for being too cheeky in the house. Thank you for creating this site and for being such an inspiration and loving force in your mom's life. I know how much it means to her--we "lethal white" moms have a lot in common! Lots of love and pets to you all and a hug for mom. |
